“God Gave Me This Body. Losing
41 lbs Was How I Finally Honored It”

I believe we only get one body in this life - and it’s our responsibility to take care of it.

I didn’t always think that way. For a long time, I treated my body like it would just bounce back no matter what I did.

Skipped meals. Constant stress. Little to no sleep. I always said, “I’ll take care of myself later.

”But eventually, “later” caught up to me.

I gained weight.

More than 46 lbs over the course of two years.

I was tired, inflamed, and out of breath walking up stairs. My moods were all over the place.

My clothes didn’t fit. And worst of all?

I didn’t recognize the woman in the mirror anymore.

One night, after another bout of tossing and turning until 3 a.m., I opened my Bible out of habit. My eyes landed on this verse:

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit…? Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

It hit me like a brick.

I had been treating my body like an afterthought. Like it didn’t matter.

But if God gave me this body, maybe taking care of it is a form of worship. Maybe it’s an act of gratitude.
That mindset shift changed everything
Instead of chasing the next quick fix, I decided to step back and really tune in to what my body was trying to tell me.

I started digging deeper and realized that chronic stress was behind the weight gain, inflammation, and constant fatigue.

My cortisol levels, my body’s stress hormones were through the roof.

No meal plan or gym routine was going to work until I addressed that first.

And then, almost like another little sign, I came across something called 28 - Day Cortisol Detox.

I wasn’t even looking for a new plan at that point - I just happened to see it mentioned in a story that felt eerily similar to mine.It wasn’t extreme.

It wasn’t overwhelming.

It was simple, peaceful, and focused on helping the body reset - by calming cortisol naturally.

For the first time, something actually made sense.

And more importantly?

It actually worked.

It was just a peaceful, supportive plan to start healing from the inside out.
In just 3 weeks, I had lost 19 lbs. And by the end of 3 months, I was down 41 lbs.
But honestly, the numbers were just part of it.

I have more energy. I sleep through the night. My digestion’s back on track. My face isn’t puffy. My mind is clearer.

I’m active again. I feel lighter not just in weight, but in spirit. And I’m finally able to enjoy life with my husband, doing the simple things we love together.

And most importantly, I finally felt like I was honoring the gift I was given.

Not just for vanity.

Not just to fit into smaller jeans.

But because this is the only body I get and I want to treat it with care, not punishment.
If you’ve been putting yourself last… maybe it’s time to stop
You don’t have to be perfect. And you don’t have to fix everything overnight.

But you can take one small step toward feeling better. Toward showing a little love to the body you’ve been blessed with.

For me, that step was 28 - Day Cortisol Detox.

It started with a simple quiz. That’s all.

And it opened the door to a whole new way of taking care of myself.

Your body is a gift.

Treat it like one.

Treat it with the care and respect it deserves.
